Boys 8th Soccer

On Monday afternoon, the Tohickon Golden Eagles 8th Grade Boys Soccer team took on Tamanend Middle School. The Golden Eagles were 1-1-2, coming off of back to back ties.
The Golden Eagles came out strong, with an early goal in the 2nd minute of the game from Michael Panno. Despite early success, Tohickon let in a weak goal in the 12th minute, allowing Tamanend to even the score at 1. The remainder of the half was a closely played game, despite Tohickon getting plenty of score opportunities. The half ended with a score of 1 to 1.
The second half started very similar to the first half, with the Golden Eagles benefiting from a Connor Wells goal at the 35th minute. Following this, both teams exchanged scoring opportunities before Tamanend was able to put a second goal on the board during the 50th minute. With the scored tied at 2, the Golden Eagles pressed the Tamanend Tigers for the final 10 minutes. With 3 minutes left, Josh Martinez took a shot from 10 feet out and rang it off the post. Unfortunately the match would end in a 2-2 draw, bringing Tohickon’s record to 1-1-3.
On Wednesday, the Golden Eagles will travel to take on Lenape Middle School.
